    Velani Mboweni
    Co-Founder & CEO at LULA

    Velani Mboweni is the Co-Founder and CEO of LULA, an award-winning mobility scaleup that connects company commuters to private shuttles to enable sustainable and productive commuting in Africa. 

    This serial entrepreneur started his journey 13 years ago when he sold airtime to classmates via SMS-based protocol apps. Velani went on to start two more ventures - an assignment delivery business at the University of Cape Town and a social venture called Phambili Mzansi.

    LULA, Velani’s most successful business to date, has quietly raised millions of dollars from local and international investors, served over 250 businesses and done over 400,000 rides, reduced over 1000 tons of CO2, and won the Startup of The Year Award in 2019, at the Global Startup Awards. Driven by his mission to serve people and solve problems, Velani is empowered to provide the infrastructure critical for more sustainable, productive, and accessible African cities - one ride at a time.

    Velani is a Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree and also serves on the Board of WESGRO and the CSIR's Smart Mobility board. He is forever optimistic about Africa and its people, which is seen clearly in his 2016 TED Talk titled Commodifying the African Experience

    Founder & CEO at Novita Biotechnology

    Alexandra Miszewski is the young Cape Town entrepreneur who is the Founder & Managing Director of Novita. Novita's flagship product is Synotech, an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment for arthritis currently in use in private healthcare and veterinary healthcare.

    Co-Founder of Foxtrot and Founder of Guerilla

    Cameron Naidoo is the founder and creative partner of the anti-traditional creative agency Guerilla. Over the last decade, he's spent his time curating, creating, and crafting award-winning solutions for some of the world’s biggest brands including WarnerMedia, DStv, Toyota Africa and British American Tobacco. Passionate about tech, Cameron is also the co-founder of AR tech solution Foxtrot, as well as an African short stories app called BookBeak.

    Thapelo Nthite
    Co-Founder at Botlhale AI

    Son. Brother. Friend. Thapelo Nthite is also the Co-Founder and CEO of Botlhale AI, an award-winning Artificial Intelligence startup backed by GrindStone, Branson Centre, Imvelo Venturesand Creative Destructive Labs - Montreal. Botlhale AI enables businesses to engage with theircustomers in languages that their customers understand and trust.

    Thapelo is a Mechatronics Engineering graduate from the University of Cape Town who is passionate about driving digital inclusion on the continent by disrupting digital monolingualism. Thapelo has been listed on News24’s Top 100 Mandela’s Of The Future and Mail & Guardian’s top 200 South Africans. Having built one of the first documented end-to-end text-to-speech systems using AI for any South African language, his contributions to this space have been published by IEEE, and his work is starting to simplify the way people interact with technology.
